Fly Tying Materials

Fly tying is a simple process of tying various materials to a hook with thread. There are thousands of different fly tying materials on the market.It could get a bit confusing,but it is really simple. I tie all my own flies, I find it much this way because I am able to make small adjustments on proven fish catchers and make them better with all the modern materials about today.The best thing to do is get yourself a good book on fly tying and a starter kit. Dont worry what your first ones look like, practice makes perfect.

One of the most important things with tying flies is the hook that you tie it on, always use a good quality hook, you dont what to get a good fish on only for it to straigten your cheap hook. I tie all my flies on kamasan hooks , they are good strong hooks and never let me down.

Once you get into it there be no stopping you, you cant beat the feeling of catching fish on something you have tyed yourself, get yourself a starter kit and start learning today.
